The activities include: horseback riding, fly fishing (with instruction), hiking, canoeing and wildlife viewing/photography opprotunities, swimming in the reservoir, or a day trip to Sheridan. We have a kid's program as well that focuses on riding lessons, with additional offerings of crafts, games, nature walks, and supervised play with our kids wranglers. Other activites we offer for an additional fee are: back country pack trip to our high camp, a visit to historic Cody to see the Buffalo Bill Historical Center and take in their nightly rodeo, or ATV riding on the unlimited trails in the forest.
If you are seeking a great Western experience, or quiet serenity, Spear-O-Wigwam is the ranch for you. We offer all our activites and comfortable lodging in some of the most picturesque country in the Western United States. Because we are a small outfit, we provide the personal attention every guest deserves. We are the perfect ranch for "first timers" because we operate at a more leisuely pace, and while our daily activities must be somewhat structured in order to accomodate everyones wishes, we allow you as much freedom as possible to personalize your experience with us. Many of our guests return year after year, because they crave the peace and quiet that defines our beautiful ranch, and love the fact that we are charmingly rustic and remote. These are the very same qualities that drew Ernest Hemingway here in the 1920's, where he completed the novel, A Farewell to Arms.
Should you desire activities off the ranch, a day trip to Sheridan or Cody can be arranged. Sheridan is full of activity all summer long; from rodeos to fairs to Wild West Days and much more! July is rodeo month in Wyoming. For rodeo fans Sheridan offers a PRCA Rodeo is in July. | Photos: | | | | Association Affilliations: | | | | | | |
