Laughing Water Ranch encompasses 220 acres of mountain timber and rolling pasture. Nestled in a beautiful mountain valley just west of Glacier National Park and bordered on three sides by the Kootenai National Forest, the ranch has a wonderful trail system for scenic and challenging horseback rides. Colorful names such as the “Trail of Tears,” “Ron’s Overlook,” and the “North Fork of Deep Creek Trail” will become part of your memory book. You probably won’t see any other riders, since Laughing Water is the only dude ranch in the area. Kids will enjoy “Fort Laramie and a tepee village with full interactive programs. The children’s program is available for kids 4-14 every day during the horseback rides. And yes, horses are involved in the children’s program. In May and September the ranch advertises Cattle Drives, Adults Only and Singles Weeks, a pared down version of our summer program at rock-bottom prices!

We have very affordable Cattle Drive overnight vacations for the adults and singles in May and September. For those who aren't sure about doing the camp out and want to bunk in their own bed here at the Ranch, we have a one-day Cattle Roundup and branding as part of your week long vacation package.

Kids Program Our ranch kids program is unique among Montana dude ranches. Your children will be part of the Laughing Water 7th Cavalry or our own honorary Northern Cheyenne tribe in our Native Americans program. They can fish, camp, feed and bond with their horse, explore and enjoy the West with youthful enthusiasm just like you may have when you were a kid!

During the summer you can see the morning saddle up and horse instruction even if you're not there, or better yet, tell your friends to watch for you on a certain day while you're down at the corrals saddling up for the day's ride.
