The Flying E Ranch is the ideal place for your “real” western vacation. Located 65 miles north west of Phoenix you will find clean, comfortable rooms, delicious meals, desert cookouts, endless trails to ride and roam, and lots of Arizona sunshine. Known as the “riding ranch” we offer all levels of riding on 20,000 acres of trails. Riding lessons for the beginner, and loping rides for the more experienced riders. Also a working cattle ranch, you may see cattle along the trail, or have a go at team penning in our arena. Sit in the saddle and experience the cowboy ways of the west.
Facilities include a heated swimming pool with attached jacuzzi, sauna, shuffleboard, tennis court, lawn chess, horseshoe pitch, bird watching and individual hiking to explore our desert floor. Or just sit back, kick off your boots and relax. Families, couples or a single cowpoke, we welcome you to the ranch.

“This place is pure magic. There aren’t words to describe how much fun and relaxing this place is, yet it caters to every whim of a seasoned traveler. The hospitality will rival the Four Seasons, yet the atmosphere is so laid back that it’s just what the doctor ordered for the couple of family that wants to get away to a time when things were more friendly and more simple. The horses!! OMG! Not a bad one in the bunch! And my friend who has come 13 times said she’s always amazed that they manage to match you with the perfect horse for your personality. And if you want to try anoter horse, you’re given the opportunity every single time you ride. If you go on one ranch vacation in your life, let it be here. The accomodations are squeaky clean but you still feel you can put your feet up. If you’re looking for beautiful scenery, wonderful horses, and a friendly, accomodating staff continually at your beck and call, this is your next vacation. Just promise to say Kristin sent you when you check in! :-)” – Kristin Laufer, St. Louis, MO
“We’ve been going to the Flying W for the past 12 years and always look forward to another visit as do the rest of our family, 16 total. Ande and Steve and their staff have always provided us with a warm and friendly stay, good food, clean rooms, and enough recreation for our grandchildren so they are always busy. We’ve recommend the Flying E to friends and they leave rested, happy and ready to return.” – Flora & Rex Long – West Hills, CA
“My parents have been coming to the Flying E for 35 some years. They started taking some family members during Thanksgiving. Now my sister and I are able to go with them every year, and despite their complications of their “seniority”, they would NEVER miss time at “The Ranch.” The place is emaculate. The food is absolutely delicious and interesting. The service is everything you’d want. The entertainment is always exceptional. Their location is perfect for rides, slow or fast. Their horses are well-taken care of as are all of the animals at The Ranch. We have made friends at the Flying E that have become very close and we even get together with them back in CA! I year without that week away from the hustle bustle of Orange County, CA would be a whole lot harder on the soul. Thank you, Flying E, for knowing with people want and for being so family oriented.” – Corinne Escobar Griffiths – Yorba Linda, CA
“We have just returned from our ninth visit to the Flying e ranch where Ande and Steve Taylor work so successfully to provide the authentic western experience for all guests. We are now a party of over 25 American and English friends and family spread over three generations (aged from 80 to 2 years) who return each year to renew friendships in a true western setting; a perfect destination for the whole western experience. The riding is at all levels and always properly supervised. Herding and penning cattle are great fun for all ages especially in competitions with children against parents. Breakfast, lunch, and evening meals are sometimes taken out in the desert, and after dinner activities such as games and cowboy singing wind up a genuine western day. The atmosphere is established by Ande and Steve Taylor and their committed staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. They put their stamp of dedication to the guests’s good time on everything. You arrive at first as a guest but leave as a firm friend. Big smiles, warm hearts, western sunsets, great food, friends and activities combine to make this as always an enjoyable experience worth crossing the world for. The best advert for their success is the continual return of old satisfied customers. This ranch and the managers’ dedicated service is the best example of authentic western hospitality. We can’t wait to return next year.” – Michael and Felicity Byrne – Rainhill Merseyside England
